“After much consideration & conversation with my family, I’ve decided to give up smoke. Please respect my privacy at this time,” Snoop Dogg posted on social media this afternoon. Now, others are hopping on the “no smoking” train, including “All Eyes On You” rapper Meek Mill.
Meek Mill Says He Will Give Up Marijuana
Meek Mill is the next rapper to hop on the Snoop “no smoking” trend as he took to social media not long after the “Drop It Like It’s Hot” rapper made his announcement, writing, “Ima [quit] once I go cold in Dubai… Snoop start the no smoking challenge we gone follow up!”
“It’s not healthy for me!” Meek Mill added.
Fans did not hesitate to voice their thoughts, as one user wrote, “So a grown man need another grown man to stop smoking so he can….ok got it lol.”
Another said, “If you need a challenge to stop smoking, then you ain’t ready yet ? what happens when the challenge cools off ??♂️! You either stop on your own or stop when your health can’t take it anymore ?.”
One user expressed, “Or you can just make a personal decision on your own. Why do you need celebrities you don’t know to influence your decisions?”
Meanwhile, another user chimed in by saying, “Real smokers KNOW we need tolerance breaks from time to time to reset our mind and body. It’s all the new cats saying he’ll nah never know that they’re stuck on the additives on the new s— coming out this generation full of nicotine & pen smokers and pre-roll Jays from the dispo. And one of Meek Mill’s followers said, “I’m not puttin s— down he been smoking since the 90s he ain’t puttin it down that easy he gone sneak way n smoke one ?.”
Snoop Dogg and Meek Mill Receive Support From Fans
Not all fans are bashing the rappers as many took to the comments section to show support.
One fan stood by Snoop Dogg for his decision, sharing things such as “The courage, the boldness, the ability to announce that you’re stopping something that made you SO SO SO much money which created a character that you and all of us are used too is truly remarkable.”
He added, “As a sober man I speak for me and all of us sober people around the world, welcome to sobriety!!!”
Another fan commented on Meek Mill’s post, “I remember when I first stopped smoking, everything in life became much more clear. It’s been 6 years so far.”
As The Blast previously reported, Ranagade PerRana, Snoop’s personal joint roller, stated that she had rolled “over 450,000” joints for the West Coast rapper and that he consumes approximately “half a pound a day, which is 75 to 150 joints.”
