Megan Fox Admits She’s Only Dated ‘Pretty Boys’ With Negative Consequences

Megan Fox is baring her soul in her first poetry book about “Pretty Boys” and their negative impacts!

The actress is regarded as one of the world’s sexiest women alive, but being adored by millions of fans did not guarantee the perfect treatment from the men in her life. The 37-year-old dives into her heartbreaking past in her new collection of poems, “Pretty Boys Are Poisonous,” sharing the lessons she learned from dating hot guys.

Experience is the best teacher for the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” star, who hoped to spare other women from falling down the dark rabbit hole of pretty boys with her new book. The TV personality’s poetry collection originated from her past, with its title spawning from one of the poems inside.

Fox settled on naming her book “Pretty Boys Are Poisonous” not only because it resonated with her story, but she also received multiple agreements from her friends after she suggested several titles for the poetry project.

“That one just seemed to sting the most. It was so savage, and that name just seemed to really encapsulate my experience,” the mother of three explained, noting that the book’s title captured her past relationships with men regarded as pretty boys. In the Scream Award winner’s words:

“I’ve only ever dated musicians or actors or people who would fall into that pretty boy category, so it just represented my specific experience so well.”

Although the book of poems documented the “Transformers” actress’s failed romances, the Oak Ridge native stressed in her interview with WWD that the written work was not aimed at canceling her former lovers.

None of the men she wrote about were mentioned in the book, but the nonfiction piece focused on her experiences rather than the men who hurt her. In the book’s introduction, Fox revealed she had a longtime “savior/martyr complex” that made her believe she was “meant to be a sacrificial lamb” for her lovers.

However, through her book, the “New Girl” star hoped to help others who have had similar experiences as well as herself. “Because f—. I deserve better,” the Hollywood sensation declared. Apart from supporting those suffering from pretty boys, the Teen Choice Award recipient wishes to leave a positive impact on her children.

The actress shares three sons — Noah, 11; Bodhi, 9; and Journey, 7 — with ex-husband Brian Austin Green, and hopes these boys will someday find her poetic narrative beneficial. In the doting mother’s words:

“I think because I have sons, it’s very important to me to raise boys who are not like these men that I’ve been with. It’s very important for me to raise boys who are able to have a very deep emotional intimacy with their partner.”

The “Jennifer’s Body” star continued, “It’s very important to me that they are not liars, that they are able to be fully transparent and honest and respectful and experience at some point in their life,” hoping her parental teachings will allow her sons “to love in a really healthy way.”

Megan Fox Says Her ‘Freedom’ Lives Within The Pages Of Her New Book

Months before sharing her experiences with pretty boys, the “Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen” actress first announced her written work in a candid social media post. The entertainer shared the stunning cover art for her poetry collection in August, featuring a black snake weaving through a feminine mouth with a lower lip ring.

“These poems were written in an attempt to excise the illness that had taken root in me because of my silence. I’ve spent my entire life keeping the secrets of men, my body aches from carrying the weight of their sins,” Fox penned before concluding her post:

“My freedom lives in these pages, and I hope that my words can inspire others to take back their happiness and their identity by using their voice to illuminate what’s been buried, but not forgotten, in the darkness.”
